These are easy recipes for an easy life. I think of cooking as foreplay; it is eating that I really love.
All of these recipes came from somewhere, for example from my Aunt Fanny. (I don't have an Aunt Fanny). What happened to them is that I tried them out, simplified them, found out what my friends wanted to eat and varied them. Often I have substituted simpler ingredients where this does not adversely affect the taste.

I really wanted to like this cookbook, because I'm always looking for new recipes to try. Unfortunately, it was difficult to understand and poorly formatted. I believe the author is not American, because he uses metric measurements frequently. He even mentions this fact in the introduction. I understand that not every cookbook is American, but it became quite distracting when McMillan shifted back and forth randomly between metric and American measurements. In some recipes, he uses one system, in others he uses the other, and in some recipes he uses both.I might attempt to make some of these recipes, but I'm not sure they are worth the time of conversion.
